Compassion Elective
The Compassion Elective is for those who want to be the hands and feet of Jesus, for those who long to show God’s compassion to the poor and needy, for those who want to bring the hope of Jesus to the hopeless and have an impact on today’s world.
We believe God has called us to fight for those who are forgotten, those in need and to be a voice for the voiceless. During Lecture Phase, students will embark on a journey to discover God’s heart for them and the world around them. It will give students a deeper understanding of the ways of God and amazing opportunities to show His love and compassion to everyone they meet. Although this elective is Compassion-focused, the ultimate goal during Lecture Phase is for students to learn about God and build their relationship with Him and become passionate about spreading His Word.
Outreach Phase is when students will be given a chance to literally be the hands and feet of Jesus. Students will be able to take everything they’ve learned during Lecture Phase and apply it in real, cross-cultural situations. Outreach activities will vary depending on location, but students should be prepared to participate in a variety of ministries. This includes, but is not limited to, working with sex trafficking victims, prostitutes, homeless people, feeding the poor, prison ministry, teaching English, running kid’s camps, etc. Each outreach is slightly different depending on the students and which countries they go to. However, students should be aware that they will be taught a dance and a skit or two to take overseas on outreach!
Compassion Elective provides a great opportunity for students to come and learn about God, themselves and develop compassion for those who need Jesus. Come and be a part of making a difference!
